I'm taking a short break from my mindfulness activities during the next few months.
This year has been difficult for all of us. There has been an unprecedented interruption in many of our work, school, and social lives.
If life has taught me anything, it's that nothing stays the same. This thread of impermanence runs through almost all mindfulness teachings (secular and Buddhist), and I hope my pause with Common Humanity will be relatively short.
I need some time to regroup; figure out what direction my family and I are going in. I am grieving my mother who died this summer, and I am not a big fan of practicing meditation in a group via Zoom (maybe I just need more practice).
That's all I'll say for now. If you are interested in taking an MBSR course or getting a meditation group together, let me know and we can discuss it.
I have not completely abandon Common Humanity, and I hope to eventually have a renewed sense of purpose around it. This was such a dream for me, and I hope to continue. I still believe in it, and I know there are many people that are with me.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.
If you need to get in touch, please email me at
and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Wishing you much love and health during the remainder of 2020 and beyond.
Warmest regards and lots of love,
P.S. Let's all practice holding space for each other. This is a time of high emotions and social upheaval. Please be kind to each other.
Common Humanity is Berlin's English-speaking center for mindfulness. We are building a community interested in growing, learning and healing together through mindfulness, mindful meditation, and mindful movement.
